2025 Hands Around the Capitol

About Hands Around the Capitol

 

Please join us for Hands Around the Capitol 2025, celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 25, 2025 from 10am to 4pm in Cecil Andrus Park in Boise, Idaho. This is a statewide in-person, educational and awareness event that will be connected by live streaming platforms to coordinate with national ADA celebrations and awareness events across our nation.

Donate to Hands Around the Capitol

 

Please consider donating to 2025 Hands Around the Capitol! We raise more than $50,000 to pay for the event, including event permits, porta-potties, stages and ramps, sound equipment, security, traffic control, and more. You can make a contribution by going to the contribution page.

Activities

  •  Hands Around the Capitol: Attendees form a human circle around the Capitol to symbolize unity in support of people with disabilities, community living and accessibility.
  • Guest Speakers & Proclamations: Leaders and advocates address accessibility progress.
  • Multicultural Performances: Celebrating cross-disability and multi-culture's through music, dance, and storytelling.
  • Interactive Awareness Booths: Covering ADA topics and other civil rights laws such as employment, voting, housing, digital access, service dogs, assistive technology, and more.
  • Children’s Activities & Community Engagement: Interactive painting wall, simulations, and accessible recreation.
